Some of my thoughts on the Apple Iphone release.
I beleive that Apple is going to suprise us in a few ways.
First I think that the Iphone will be released with more storage than what was anounced at MacWorld. Maybe an 8gig & 12 gig model. And instead of EDGE the phone will be 3G. The phones will still be priced at $499 and $599.
I also think that they will release a model at a lower price point. The Iphone mini or nano? This phone will probably have a smaller screen but still use the multi-touch interface. Or the screen size will remain the same but be of a lower resolution to cut cost. No wi-fi will be included and it will come in 2gig & 4gig models. A 1.3mp camera will probably replace the 2mp camera of the higher end Iphone and will it will be EDGE. These will be priced somewhere around $249 and $349.
And lastly a new Ipod will be introduced. It will not include a click wheel but instead rely on the multi-touch interface. It will probably have the same screen as the Iphone but without all the phone features it will have room for a large hard drive(30gig, 80gig, 120gig). It will also include the mobile version of OS X. Maybe have wi-fi built in to surf the web. I have no idea what the pricing is going to be like.
Well there you have it. My predictions for the Iphone release this June. These predictions are not based on any kind of inside information. As Merlin Mann said in a episode of MacBreak Weekly "My source for these predictions is purly my butt". http://www.twit.tv/mbw
